New York Times Restructuring Digital Operations

5 Dec

Martin Nisenholtz who is  a Senior VP of the New York Times has decided to retire at the end of the year 2011. Nisenholtz was one of the key people who helped develop the newspaper’s web site and online strategy. With his sudden leave NYT would seem to be left with some big shoes to fill in. The company had announced that it will start reconstructing how its online site is run.

The New York Times has had one of the most successful online version news sites. With his absence Nisenholtz has assured that the site would be run seamlessly by existing editors and web designers. The loss of a leading figure would come as a blow even with a good team that can find its own direction. Especially because his departure comes as a sudden one, the emptiness would seen more of a gaping hole than ever.
