Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News Relocating

5 Dec

Philadelphia Media Network has decided to move the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News  out of its current building due to a cost cutting move. The papers are to move out of their 86-year-old home to move into a renovated department store. Philadelphia Media Network bought the newspapers at a bankruptcy auction last year.

It is not exactly news that traditional newspapers are being replaced by digitized news. Online news sites are more cost effective. It only needs reporters that have internet access. The relocation of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily serves as another example of traditional news media trying to survive. Maybe a new strategy is what the newspaper company needs instead of a smaller office.
