The Pittsburgh Press to be Reborn Online

5 Dec

The Pittsburgh Press which had been acquired and destroyed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 18years ago has been decided to be resurrected in E-version. The paper’s owner Block Communications is to start an afternoon Pittsburgh Press e-edition of a “late day” news updates and commentary.  “We sensed a hunger in Pittsburgh and elsewhere in our diaspora for something that provides afternoon news in a newspaper format that was offered digitally,” said Post-Gazette Executive Editor David Shribman.

The Pittsburgh Press’ Wikipedia page has already been updated with a section about its “resurrection online.” It is a weird thing to see a paper that was shattered ages ago(according to internet time) being literally resurrected from its newspaper grave. Hopefully an online news version of the long once-dead newspaper can work better than its brutally murdered past offline life.
